“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity”
— John Muir

“My tent in the evening fog. This tent was a birthday present and it was the first single person tent I’ve used. Sometimes I would sit in the clouds and here, after descending from a steep pass I made camp in a pine forest. The mist crept in soon and it made for a spooky but beautiful atmosphere. I kind of like it that the writing from the other side of the page is shining through”
Le Grand Sentier/Purple book
The purple book had many more pages and Geert filled this one too. Yet it has quite a few sketches added to the notes as he knew he was running out of paper in the black book
