The Mekong and it’s massive Delta, south of Ho Chi Minh City, is one of largest rice growing areas in the world. Indeed, it’s called the ‘Rice bowl of Asia’. It also houses many different species of animals, fish, reptiles and birds.

Geert noticed the hard toil of the rice workers in the hot sun and in the rice paddies throughout the area. The characteristic Vietnamese conical hats protecting the workers from the sun.
