Vietnam - Stage 2 - Photographs
Geert rode South during Tết, the weeklong celebration of the Lunar New Year. People got very drunk and he witnessed a fight on the side of Highway 1 where people went after each other holding iron bars.
The climbs into the highlands were brutal because of the intense heat. He passed large burned down areas where poor locals were collecting charcoal, covered in soot.
Arriving back in Ho Chi Minh City was very satisfying. After all - Geert had no idea if his back would hold out. He had started with serious overweight after a very depressing Adelaide Hills winter. Now he looked happy, fresh faced and a lot thinner. It was a great ride.
