19 July 2021/Noggerup shelter/One of the excellent shelters I slept in. Because of the rainy and stormy weather, many of these became a haven//Bamboo pen & ink, acrylics, watercolour//
Many of the shelters had fire pits. Usually in a metal ring with a moveable plate. In the beginning Geert cooked on these until he had packed extra gas in a town with supplies. Getting a fire going worked well despite the wetness of the place. Sometimes he dried his socks but in the next morning this luxury would soon disappear. Sharp branches cut hits boots open and these lost its waterproofness fairly quickly
